This series has its beginnings in more realistic paintings of dappled light through trees that go back many years. Gradually the images became more minimal & abstracted, and became a way to play with color and space in a very direct way, while still evoking their inspiration in plants & nature. The series continues even as I do other very different kinds of work in the studio as well.
